Radio Panchajanya 90.8FM, Community Radio Station, was launched on 12th January 2017 on the eve of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti by Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India and also representing the State of Karnataka in Rajya Sabha. From day one to till date Radio Panchajanya has been edutaining the people of Puttur and surroundings. Radio Panchajanya is an adventure by the community, for the community and of the community with the noble intension and objective of strengthening and educating our community through non-visual medium.

Our Society has a great treasure of knowledge and wisdom that shines forth through ever day speech. In a move to spread this treasure of wisdom from person to person and to fulfill the noble deed of sharing one’s voice and one’s experiences, the Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha has launched this “Radio Panchajanya 90.8FM” for the people of Puttur region.

Along with the spirit of nationalism and with the long term aim of following and developing the values of our tradition, culture and heritage “Panchajanya” broadcasts programmes related to education, sports, agriculture, science and technology, music, literature, Yakshagana, dairy farming, social welfare, cultural progress, regional issues & programmes, festivals, regional fairs, employment information, drama, literary fests etc.

Programmes like, Vaidyadevobhava, Yakshagana series, literary programmes, light music, Kalamahathi, radio dramas, agriculture etc. have achieved immense success among the listeners.
Thus, Radio Panchajanaya is reverberating all through Puttur and also around for hours (7.00 am – 9.00am and 6.00 pm – 8 pm). The important and gratifying news is that Radio Panchajanaya is not just limited to Puttur and its’s nearby areas alone. It has been extended so that it is an internet Radio available in www.radiopanchajanya.com and can be accessed by anyone anywhere in the globe.
