A Training Program on Safety and Disaster Response was conducted at our college on 27th June 2026 at the Keshava Sankalpa Auditorium by the 10th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Bengaluru.
The program was conducted by a team led by Sri Shantilal Jatia, Head of the 10th Battalion, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Bengaluru and In-charge of Disaster Management, Dakshina Kannada. Addressing the students, he explained the role and services of the NDRF in disaster management and rescue operations across the country.
Sri Subhash Shindhe, Assistant Sub-Inspector of the NDRF, conducted an informative session on safety measures and disaster response techniques with practical demonstrations. Sri Selva Kumar, Sri Balakrishna, and Sri V. Sreenivasalu, rescuers from the NDRF team, assisted in conducting the training program.
The formal event was presided over by Smt. Dayamani T. K., Head of the Department of Chemistry. Sri Shreevathsa N., Academic Coordinator of the college, heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members, and students were present on the occasion.
The program created awareness among students about disaster preparedness, emergency response, and safety practices, equipping them with valuable knowledge and practical skills to handle emergencies effectively.
