The Kargil Vijaya – Yodha Namana event was held at our college on the 25th and 26th of July 2025 to commemorate the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War. On the second day, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Dr. K. N. Subrahmanya, Director of the Governing Council of our college, presided over the event. Retired Sub-Inspector of the Border Security Force (BSF), Sri Balakrishna N. A., and Retired Assistant Sub-Inspector of the BSF, Sri Padmanabha Soranja, were the chief guests and were honoured on the occasion for their dedicated service to the nation. The Principal of our college, Sri Devicharan Rai Malarabeedu, was also present on the dais.
The Head of the Department of Electronics, Sri Bheema Bharadwaj P., addressed the gathering and spoke about the Kargil War — its historical background, the intense military conflict that unfolded in 1999, and its continuing importance today. He explained how Indian armed forces launched Operation Vijay to reclaim strategic peaks in the Kargil sector of Jammu & Kashmir that had been infiltrated by enemy forces. The war, fought under extremely challenging conditions, stands as a symbol of India’s military courage, tactical brilliance, and unshakable resolve. He also emphasized the relevance of remembering such events to inspire patriotism and unity in today’s generation.
Heads of various departments, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students attended the event and paid their respects to the heroes of Kargil.
